Our District Mission is to Cultivate Christian Growth

Safe and Sacred

What is Safe and Sacred Training?

All the United Methodist Churches in our Conference have been encouraged to adopt a Policy For The Protection Of Children, Youth; And Adults With Developmental Disabilities. Each church holds a church or charge conference and adopts a policy which requires training to certify all adults and youth over the age of 18 to work with children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities. Open the below link for the policy.

Please download all necessary paperwork off the Kansas East website at www.kansaseast.org and have it filled out prior to attending any of the above training sessions. You will also need to bring 30.00 to the class to help cover the required background check.

A Safe & Sacred class will be offered:

Oct. 16th noon-4:00

Wesley United Methodist Church

301 E. Madison, Iola

Laura Caillouet-Weiner will lead the class.

Please call the office, 620-365-2285, to register. Paperwork can be accessed ahead of time on line through the Conference (kansaseast.org), filled out, then brought to class. We will have paperwork, but it expedites the process. There is a $30 fee to cover the FBI check. Please bring a sack lunch. Drinks will be provided.

If a youth 17 or younger plans to attend, Laura asks that a parent be with them. (A parent has to sign the paperwork, as well.)
